Be Fabulous, Nothing Less

It's one of those days where I feel like I could be so much more.

I want to achieve way more, but I don't know how to or in what way. Well, I'm gonna start by studying for my exams next week. Wish me luck!

Roadtrip 2014: BC, Alberta

The majestic (also, frozen) Lake Louise.

My roommate and I spent a good 2 weeks on the road. We went up from Victoria into Vernon/Kelowna, then Banff, Calgary, and finally Edmonton. These pictures were chosen from my phone's gallery and uploaded at random. I love how my Note 3 is taking amazing pictures and that I have almost no use for my camera any more! I need to take my camera out more often though... And that, I will promise to do!

Anyway, I can honestly say, what a trip! I have got to say that the most memorable experience was driving towards Banff while it was snowing at night. I think we both seriously feared for our lives... Everybody studying/living in North America definitely has to do a big road trip at some point. It is definitely an experience. My favorite part on the road would probably be driving, and singing Disney songs while munching on snacks and then stopping for Dairy Queen for blizzards and dipped cones. I know we sound like total gluttons but try it... You'll understand why I said this was my favorite bit.

Canada has so much to offer. Not a lot of people set Canada as one of their dream vacation spots, because people love the idea of Europe or Asia. Most want to see the European landmarks - Big Ben, Santorini, Eiffel Tower, or experience the various Asian cultures. Sure, that sounds great, but some people whom have barely explored their own country leave in hopes to search for something, "greater" than what they think their own country has to offer! I'm going to keep exploring Canada, and till then, remember if you are looking for adventure - hiking, food, or shopping - Canada has it all! Canada is extremely underrated and maybe that's why I'm starting to love it so much.

I love underrated things/places. The beauty of underrated stuff/places is that not many people know about it. I absolutely love the idea of exclusivity. Although I'm kind of promoting Canada as a vacation spot, I do want it to remain relatively less popular... I contradict myself so much; what's new?

While I'm on this topic, I just bought this lip balm in natural by Bite Beauty. It is called BB for Lips and it is beyond amazing. While it is a little expensive for a lip balm (CAD 28), it smells amazing and is extremely moisturizing without being too sticky. I keep smelling the lip balm now - I have a serious problem with nice scents (Yes, I am that person who smells all 200 bottles of hand soap before trying to decide which to buy)...

I went completely off topic, but I'll be back with more pictures soon!

P.S. The pictures are not in any particular order
P.S. Did you know that Canada is the second largest country in the world after Russia?

My Life in Squares

I don't take the nicest Instagram pictures, but here's a look at how my life has been the past couple of months!

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram: @cutheties. I have also started using Pinterest, so join me on the other side!

View from Mount Doug when I went trekking 2 days ago! Here's a funny story: On my way down, I was walking behind this guy and it was really awkward - as if I were following him. So I decided that I should overtake him, which I did. Then I decided that I should be more adventurous and walk down the treks in the forest. When I reached the bottom of Mount Doug, I saw him there again and he gave me a confused look. Hahahaha! I bet he thought I had some magical powers!

My story is boring isn't it...

The next bit of pictures were from my roadtrip to Alberta/BC!

Also, my timeline is going backwards - most recent to the oldest pictures.

Stopped by Valemount on the way back for dinner and fuel! I simply loved how the sign said, "Let the mountains move you". Being a girl from a tropical country with no mountains at all, I truly appreciate the views of the mountains in Alberta and B.C.

West Edmonton Mall. What do I have to say about this mall? Basically, it is big and awesome. That's all! Shopping wasn't that awesome though. A large variety but everything could be found in Vancouver. No special sales either, so nothing much for me!

Here's a small bit Calgary - upside down!

Had some sushi!

This is probably one of my favorite pictures from the trip. I wished I had the money to sit in the Fairmont and have high tea. The view of Lake Louise (which is frozen, OMG YESSS) there is simply breathtaking!

My roommie and me on frozen Lake Louise! Loved the mountains behind! What did I say about appreciating mountains? ;)

A pitstop in Golden, AB! We first entered Alberta and this was what greeted us when we stopped for petrol and food. It was a hack of a drive from Golden to Banff as well. Snowing crazily, so it was pretty much like wtf are we going to survive this???

But we made it! (duh)

Here's us in Vernon!

And now we're back in Victoria!

Gotta love the Flying Otter Grill

Me posing on a beautiful sunny day!

Me trying to be artistic.

Spring brings about the most beautiful flowers. UVic looks beautiful year round but Spring is where its really at.

Amy and I!

Say hi to Ted!

Here's ending the post with a pretty narcissistic picture of me acting cool on Willows Beach. This might have been taken in March. My memory fails me very often now. Time is flying by. Victoria is pretty awesome if you look hard enough to find hidden cafes and beaches.

I have an exam tomorrow that's worth 30%. Wish me luck!

Back in Singapore in 44 days! Can't wait; I am sooo homesick right now.

In Fashion, We Trust:

"You can never be overdressed or overeducated. " - Oscar Wilde

This red dress. Some serious stunning shit going on right here!

Them platforms. I saw similar pairs of all whites from Jeffrey Campbell. But I decided that I did not need a pair of $160 platform shoes. However when I saw this picture, I start to question myself again.

Also, Zara. How is almost everything in your store fucking perfect? Now that you guys ship to Canada, this whole online store thing is really killing me. Am currently waiting for a dress to be restocked right now, before I pounce.

Dress well, feel fabulous. Always.

Summer School

The pictures in this post should probably be more colorful. I mean it's summer (well, soon enough), and I should really be more drawn towards pastels, brights, and patterns.

But I'm completely attracted to the opposites - neutrals, B/W, and solids.

I also exceptionally love midi skirts now. Can't wait till Victoria gets even warmer than it already is so that I can start wearing my summer clothes!

On a completely different note...

Summer school begins tomorrow - in fact it begins in 12 hours. I'm afraid and excited at the same time! I will be taking my first ever Philosophy course and that scares the shit out of me because I'm not sure what to expect. I am also taking a Canadian Economic History course so that means that this short summer term will be full of writing. I might also be taking Photography which I'm sure will be extremely interesting. Not only will I be busy with classes, but this term I will be busy planning and applying for internships as well! I hope everything goes well! #extremelyoptimistic

I received an email from the Econ department inviting me to apply for the Honour's program. I am extremely humbled and honored by the invitation. Yeah, I'm showing off because this is quite a big deal to me! I still can't believe its true and I hope they didn't send me a wrong email or something! HAH!

I'm boring the shit out of myself talking about school. Well, I can't wait till summer school is done and I will be going to Vancouver, and subsequently home (back to Singapore)! I am planning a trip with ZY to Hong Kong too, and I hope the plans will follow through!

Summer is always, and always will be my favorite season. I do love fall fashion though - almost completely irrelevant. This summer is going to be busy but it is also going to be so good! Honestly cannot wait for my real summer to start back home in Singapore. Pictures of my road trip up on the blog soon!

P.S. Note to self: Please work on the relevance of the topics you are talking about in a blog post. School and fashion inspiration do not really go well together.....
